arrangment piece.

Today i have been preparing for my arrangement . I will be using sweet child o mine by guns of roses in a synth pop cohort. I have researched the genre and listened to artists such as pet shop boys, gold frapp, human league and gray Newman. this has given me a taste for the genre nd i have been ale to think what i want to include and how i am going to go about starting this song. i have got together the sheet music and chords for the song and have been able to start practice playing them.

I have decided what instruments i am going to use and the tempo. i have also thought about the texture, tonality and melody. i have also came up with a structure for the piece.
I have also came up with a few ideas for what i can use for this piece.

Today i began the sequenced realised performance for the song colourless colour. I found my some of the sounds for my instruments. for example :
Synth 1: basic square
Synth 2: El piano
Synth 3: analogue lead
String pad: solina strings
Bass synth: Sine Bass
These are temporary at the moment because think i will need to use some techniques to change the sound and i also may find better sounds for this instruments in the future.
I also started to in put my notes for the string pad, bass synth and synth 1. I have now got up to bar 25.
i quantised by notes for this instruments and edited a few notes. They now are in time with the piece.
After i added each instrument i added a mastering suite and a reverb.

more prep

Today i have been trying to get myself familiar with colourless colour. I have been listening to the piece over and over again. I have been trying to work out all the parts. Where they come in and what they sound like.


I have also been trying to get myself familiar with the score and how the instruments are played. I have been practicing how to play them and get the to sound correct, on time and realistic. This is extremely important because it needs to sound exact and in time.


I have been putting the most time into the synths and the first couple of pages. I have also annotated the score with the correct notes .


During the holidays i will continue with the prep. This will include finishing off my plan and practicing the notation.

Today i have started my preparation for my sequenced realised performance.

This year we have been given Colourless Colour by LA Roux.They are a British duo that have created synth pop. They had there debut released to 2009. It was called bullet proof.

I have used to todays lesson to listen to the song.i also planned and mapped out where each instrument comes in. This will mean that when it comes to putting it on reason it should be easier and quicker.It is a map of a reason page.

i have been using the score and the song to help me where each part comes in.
